Since its inception in 1991, Provident has executed a diverse real estate and investment portfolio by developing or acquiring over $5.9 billion among various platforms. Our vast experience allows us to identify opportunities with exceptional potential, specializing in creating high-quality spaces that fulfill the diverse needs of every community we partner with.
Led by Founder and CEO Leon Backes and President Jay Hawes, Provident has earned a reputation for integrity, solid execution, and the agility to capitalize on shifting demands and market trends. From a historical perspective, our entry into the data center industry dates back to 1999, when we repositioned the Dallas Northtown Mall into a 140,000-square-foot data center leased to Southwestern Bell (now AT&T). This project was secured in under a week and earned ULI awards and industry recognition. Over the past twenty five years, Provident has built upon this foundational expertise and aimed to refine the process of data center development.
